Background
Canbet are starting to make waves in the UK market (never an easy task!) after previously building up a pretty solid customer base in Australia and Canada. They are now UK licensed and are a subsidiary of 'International All Sports Limited', Australia's first publicly traded sportsbook.
The sportsbook was established in 1995 and have something of a reputation for accepting huge bets and rarely limiting customers stakes, even if they're winning a whole heap of cash. The fact that they offer a range of new customer bonuses, including a 'high roller' lends substance to this theory.
Odds & Markets
Odds and markets greatly depends on the sports that you are interested in. For example, at the time of writing, the NBA season has reached the play-off stage and you can find a solid range of markets and props on each of the latest games. This also includes some very tight margins, with Canbet seemingly specialising in offering Asian Handicap lines on all events.
However, when it comes to betting on racing, token is probably a good way to describe their coverage, although they do fare slightly better for soccer. While you can forget about betting on correct score, anytime goalscorer or bookings, Canbet go to town with their handicap offerings, for both half-time and full-time. As they say in the US / Canada, there's plenty of reduced juice as well, ie the margins are particularly tight on the Champions League markets.
Website
What you might describe as a mixed bag! A number of changes have recently been made to the website, but it certainly lacks the professional look and feel required to continue their recent growth. Take the homepage for example. The colour scheme is all over the place, as is the font size for the various sports and events being promoted. Why on earth a bookmaker that's serious about capturing some decent market share has a flash banner to win a games console also loses them marks.
The left-hand sports menu also leaves a lot to be desired, although when you do delve deeper into the site, they have the available betting markets laid out in a nice ordered manner. Placing a bet is as seamless as anywhere else, although they do fall short in terms of providing a sufficient range of payment options.
Customer Service
At least they've got their bases covered as far as CS is concerned. They've got a 24/7 service available, which includes Live Chat, email and telephone. Canbet have also set up a bunch of email accounts so that you can fire off your query to the relevant inbox. The quality of the staff tends to vary, depending on what time you contact them / who you speak with. They're largely knowledgeable without being overly friendly.
