Newsboy from the Daily Mirror has highlighted a number of big priced outsiders who could have big runs at the 2012 Grand National.
David Yates of the Daily Mirror is one of horse racing's most respected pundits. 'Newsboy' can frequently be seen on television advertising his betting tips and the horses that he selects for a race are virtually guaranteed to be well backed on race day.
He has been casting his eye over the 2012 Grand National field this week and he has come up with a number of bets on the race. Today, we're having a look at the long shots selected by Newsboy.
Organisedconfusion
Nina Carberry rides Organisedconfusion who has won three chases from 2m 1f to 3m 5f but the horse was beaten on his last start, over 2m 2f at Gowran Park.
Always Right
James Reveley rides this 10-year-old who has won five chases but was pulled up in his last outing, the Betfred Grand National trial at Haydock.
Calgary Bay
Won at Doncaster on his last start, beating the popular Shakalakaboomboom by 2 and a half lengths. Trained by Henrietta Knight and ridden by Dominic Elsworth.
Neptune Collonges
Trained by Paul Nicholls and only narrowly beaten by Gilles Cross in the Betfred Grand National trial at Haydock. Daryl Jacob on board.
The Midnight Club
Ran in the Cheltenham Gold Cup but this is more suited. Was unlucky in-running last year and will be hoping to go better this time around. Paul Townend rides for Ruby Walsh.
According to Pete
A winner over hurdles, flat and fences on varying ground. Was beaten on his last outing at Kelso although he will aprreciate the longer trip at Aintree. Harry Haynes rides.
Planet of Sound
Richard Johnson on board and trained by Philip Hobbs so big things will be expected. Finished third in the Group 3 Racing Plus Chase, which was won by Nacarat, on his last run.
