The Cheltenham Festival remains the jewel in the crown of British horse racing and the meeting provides punters with four days of some of the most exhilarating entertainment imaginable.
The Jump racing season is becoming more and more about the Cheltenham Festival and year in and year out the best horses, trainers and jockeys descend on the Cotswold Hills to embark on an unrivalled path of excitement.
The 2011 Cheltenham Festival will run from 15th to 18th March and the course can expect to welcome over 200,000 racegoers from all over the world, with it believed that more than £500 million will be gambled throughout the week.
This year’s Festival looks set to be one of the most exciting for years and with Denman and Kauto Star finally surrendering their domination in the Cheltenham Gold Cup in 2010, racing’s most-sought after crown is now up for grabs.
Reigning champion Imperial Commander is on course to defend his title, but with the likes of Long Run, Pandorama and Punchestowns waiting in the wings, he will have to be every bit as good as he was last year to defend his crown. Or could it be that King Kauto bounces back to winning ways and lands chasing’s Blue Riband?
