The going for the opening day of the 2011 Cheltenham Festival has been changed to good, good to soft in places.
Clerk of the course Simon Claisse also described the going as good to firm, good in places on the cross-country course.
"I've had a walk round this morning and this is a marginal call, but with seven hours until racing I'm going to call it good, good to soft in places [chase and hurdle courses]," Claisse explained..
"Plenty of Irish trainers have been complimentary yesterday and on Sunday so I'm delighted with that. I'm happy enough considering the winter we've had."
Speaking about the weather, he continued: "It looks mostly dry with the sun breaking through this afternoon, then maybe a bit of rain on Thursday and Friday."
