Voy Por Ustedes takes what trainer Alan King hopes will be a less demanding option in Wednesday's Silver Trophy Chase at Cheltenham.
King decided not to try to win the Melling Chase at Aintree for the third year in a row, with last week's renewal looking a particularly hot one and the nine-year-old not showing the same level of performance this season.
Voy Por Ustedes returns to his other favourite haunt of Prestbury Park, where he has won both a Champion Chase and an Arkle Trophy in the past.
He faces seven rivals in the Grade Two limited handicap and is conceding at least 11lb to each of them.
There had been some suggestion this would be Voy Por Ustedes' final outing before retirement, but King said: "I hope not. I would think it will be his last run of the season as there is nothing else really for him.
"We decided this was a better option for him than going back to Aintree last week.
"He seems in good order and quite pleased to have got some sun on his back.
"Conditions should suit and he's great around the course, so hopefully he will run well."
Tony McCoy steps in for the injured Ruby Walsh on Gwanako, while likely favourite may be the Philip Hobbs-trained >From Dawn To Dusk, who carries a 5lb penalty for scoring in good style at Aintree on Saturday.
Duc De Regniere and the novice Kangaroo Court are other leading players.
