2011 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe heroine Danedream powered to victory in the King George at Ascot on Saturday.
The German-trained superstar proved her victory at Longchamp was no fluke with an enthralling success over last year’s King George winner Nathaniel.
Sent off at 9/1, the raider wasn’t at the head of affairs until the final stride and she held off Nathaniel on the line for a memorable success for connections.
St Nicholas Abbey finished well to take third after being caught out as the pace lifted off the final bend.
Delighted winning jockey Andrasch Starke said: "It was close - it was very tight - but I had a good feeling. "It was exciting to come to race like this, and everything was in good shape.
"She fought hard and it's definitely the biggest moment in my life."
Meanwhile, her trainer Peter Schiergen added: "The last race there was no pace, but today there was a good pace.
"It's a good feeling. It's very important for Germany and it's very good for German racing.
"We'll go to Baden-Baden (Grosser Preis Von Baden) next and after that we'll go to the Arc."
