Connections of four horses – Any Currency, Our Island, Abbeybraney and Smoking Aces – had been hoping for any late withdrawals up until 9am on the eve of the big Aintree race.
But there were no further defections and now every horse has a jockey booked to ride in the world’s greatest steeplechase at 4.15pm on Saturday.
Paul Carberry, as expected, has been confirmed as the rider of Chicago Grey for trainer Gordon Elliott, a 16/1. Elliott’s other runner Tharawaat, a 100/1 outsider, will be ridden by Brian O’Connell.
J P McManus’ four runners all now have jockeys with Tony McCoy aboard Synchronised, Richie McLernon sporting the second colours (green cap with white star) on Sunnyhillboy, David Casey (blue cap) aboard Quiscover Fontaine and Irish-based pilot Mark Walsh (red cap) on Arbor Supreme.
Nigel Twiston-Davies has booked Brian Hughes to ride his second string Viking Blond, with the trainer’s son again on Hello Bud.
In Compliance will be ridden by Niall ‘Slippers’ Madden, who steered Numbersixvalverde to victory in 2006.
Willie Mullins has sorted out the riding plans for his third runner as Paul Townend partners last year’s favourite The Midnight Club.
Ireland’s dominant trainer is also represented by On His Own (Ruby Walsh) and Quiscover Fontaine.
Dougie Costello, who rode Countrywide Flame to win the Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, takes the mount on Postmaster for Tim Vaughan.
