The Hennessy Gold Cup is the highlight of a three day meeting that continues to attract the sport’s leading horses, trainers and jockeys and we’re giving you the chance to be there to witness the biggest stars in racing battle it out at Newbury.
Year in and year out, Hennessy Gold Cup day sees thousands of racing fanatics flock to the course to witness the meeting live and a host of celebrity racegoers will be there to experience a day that sees the excitement on the track matched by the passion in the stands.
The Hennessy Gold Cup was first run in 1957 and ever since a whole host of the sport’s legendary horses have battled it out in the gruelling handicap contest. In 2007 and 2009 Denman carried an unbelievable 11st 12lb to victory and almost managed to do the same in 2010, just failing at the hands of Diamond Harry in a pulsating renewal of the contest. He joined a list of winners that featured greats such as the almighty Arkle and this year's race is sure to throw up another fantastic winner.
