Fifteen-time champion jockey Tony McCoy admitted he was thrilled to pick up his OBE from the Queen on Tuesday.

The 2010 BBC sports personality of the year winner received his award in a ceremony at Buckingham Palace and after the legendary jockey was awarded an MBE in 2003, he received his latest honour for his services to horse racing.

The jockey could barely contain his excitement after he was given the honour and McCoy explained: "It's a privilege to be honoured with an OBE. I couldn't have done it without the great support of so many owners and trainers over the years.  Chanelle (wife) and Eve (daughter) both came, too, and we all had a great day."

After another sensational season in the saddle McCoy will no doubt be looking forward to the 2011/12 jumps season and he will be hoping that he can add an incredible sixteenth jockey title to his glowing CV.
