Long Run and Kauto Star head a field of eight confirmed for the William Hill King George VI Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day and we can’t wait for the action to get underway.
It looks set to be a vintage renewal of the Grade One showpiece and Kauto Star will be in search of a remarkable fifth success in the Boxing Day Grade One. The money for the superstar is beginning to arrive and the 10/3 on offer is highly likely to be the best price you are going to get on the day.
Simon Clare, Coral Spokesman, told us that, "if money talks than Kauto Star is seriously fancied to give Long Run another beating in his favourite race, the King George VI on Boxing Day. Nearly all the money we have taken today on the race has been for Kauto Star and, given the huge following this horse has in the nation's betting shops, I can see him going off shorter than 2/1 come the day.”
Though only eight horses will line up in the race, it could hardly look any more exciting, with Master Minded and Captain Chris also tackling three miles for the first time at Kempton. Long Run is the current market leader and he is a top priced 11/8 to win the race.
