Voler La Vedette is 7/4 from 9/4 for next week’s David Nicholson Mares Only Hurdle.

The early season conqueror of Champion Hurdle favourite Go Native has been backed off the boards with co-favourite Quevega friendless in the betting ahead of their battle at Cheltenham on Tuesday.  David Williams of Ladbrokes said: "Quevega is on the slide and she's lost her position as outright favouritism in the Mares Only race. Voler La Vedette could yet displace her as the market leader."

Meanwhile, the firm have also promoted Imperial Cup hero Qaspal to 3/1 favourite for the Martin Pipe race at the Festival and 4/1 favourite (from 12s) for the County Hurdle.

Williams of Ladbrokes continued: "Qaspal was backed off the boards and McCoy rewarded the punters in grand style. There's little doubt that we'll see the same plunge take place next week as soon as we know in which race he's going to line up."
