Iris trainer Henry de Bromhead can’t wait to see Loosen My Load line up in the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham on Saturday.
The handler believes that the seven-year-old could relish the step up in trip at Prestbury Park and after finishing second in the Grade Three PricewaterhouseCoopers Chase at Limerick last time the longer distance could be right up his street.
"He seems in good form and we're hoping to run in the Paddy Power Gold Cup," de Bromhead said.
"The ground was possibly too soft at Limerick and I just thought the other horse quickened away on that ground and he struggled to catch him. I hope that the return to two and a half miles will help as he has good form over that trip at Cheltenham.
"It's a competitive race and if he finishes in the money, it will be a fantastic run. If he were to run well in the Paddy Power, I'm not sure yet where he would go next as Saturday is his main target and he is a good ground horse so there is not a lot until the spring.
"As for the Cheltenham Festival, we will see how we go on Saturday, but he would be more likely to run in a handicap there than one of the Graded races."
