Peddlers Cross and Binocular remain on course for their mouth-watering
clash in Saturday's John Smith's Hurdle at Aintree.
Nicky Henderson will be hoping that Binocular can gain compensation after
he was forced to miss the Champion Hurdle at last month’s Cheltenham
Festival.
The superstar was ruled out of the race after he was treated for an illness
in the build up to the two-mile showpiece and punters were left disappointed
after he missed his eagerly anticipated clash with eventual winner Hurricane
Fly.
Peddlers Cross did manage to take his chance at Prestbury Park and Donald
McCain’s stable star finished second to Willie Mullins’ Irish raider after
pulling clear from the rest of the field.
The two remain set for a trip to Merseyside on Saturday, along with the
likes of Get Me Out Of Here, Oscar Whisky, Zaynar and Celestial Halo.
With Hurricane Fly set to run at the Punchestown Festival next month,
punters will be hoping that he and Binocular can stay fit ahead of a potential
clash at the 2012 Cheltenham Festival.
