The first day of the 2011 Cheltenham Festival looks like being one of the greatest days racing in living memory and there are plenty of favourites that look like they will be tough to beat at Prestbury Park.
The first race of the meeting sees Cue Card looking to get punters off to a winning start in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle and the favourite brings serious form to the table.
Equally, Medermit has been backed off the boards for the Arkle Trophy and with trainer Alan King identifying his stable star as his best chance of a winner at the Festival, the money doesn’t look like drying up.
Binocular is also fancied to defend his crown in the Champion Hurdle and Nicky Henderson will be confident that his French import will bring his best form to the table at his fourth consecutive Festival.
The opposition to all three favourite looks formidable and Irish bookie
Boylesports are making sure there are no hard luck stories at this year’s meeting with their ‘Every Second Counts’ promotion.
It means if your horse finishes second in any of the first four races on day one of the Festival, the firm will refund losing bets on the horse.
