Nine horses have been declared for Saturday’s sportingbet.com Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown, with Irish raider Sizing Europe heading the betting for the two mile showpiece.
Henry De Bromhead’s stable star returns to Britain for the fifth time and the chaser will be looking to seal his fourth victory at Sandown
His most impressive victories have come in the Arkle in 2010 and the Queen Mother Champion Chase at this year’s Cheltenham Festival.
He is likely to be tough to beat, but he will be faced with a top class field and Paul Nicholls’ Tataniano will be a formidable rival in the Grade One contest. He looked to be back to his best at Chepstow on his reappearance and the superstar will be joined by exciting half-brother to Kauto Star, Kauto Stone, who made a sensational debut for Nicholls when winning a Grade Two at Down Royal on his first start for the yard.
Also in the line-up will be Wishfull Thinking, Nick Williams’ Gauvain and Cornas, David Pipe’s Dan Breen and I'msingingtheblues and Gary Moore's Fix The Rib.
Speaking about Sizing Europe’s preparation, De Bromhead explained: “For the moment we will concentrate on two miles and two and a half. But I wouldn't rule out going back to three on better ground. We've just tried to freshen him up since Down Royal and keep him good and supple and agile."
