2011 Champion Hurdle hopefuls Binocular and Peddlers Cross could be set to clash in the totesport 0800 221 221 Contenders Hurdle at Sandown on Saturday.
The two are among seven possible runners in the race as the entries for the showpiece were revealed on Tuesday.
The race has been the plan for Binocular for some time as Nicky Henderson prepares his superstar for the Champion Hurdle next month and the reigning champ took this race on the way to Cheltenham last year.
Connections of the horse will have been hoping that they could avoid Peddlers Cross until next month’s two-mile thriller but Donald McCain’s stable star missed his Cheltenham prep when Haydock was abandoned last month.
He also holds an entry in the Welsh Champion Hurdle at Ffos Las on Saturday and punters will no doubt be keen to hear where the talented hurdler is heading.
Also entered for Saturday’s Contenders Hurdle in Binocular’s stablemate Ruthenoise, McCain’s Dorabelle, and Evan Williams’ Barizan and Siberian Tiger. Nicky Richards’ Noble Alan completes the entries for the race.
