Any punter will tell you there is no such thing as a banker in horse racing but there is one thing we can be certain of as the 2011 Cheltenham Festival creeps closer.
The nation’s leading bookies will battle for the attentions of new customers as they look to lure in fresh faced punters at the world’s most prestigious race meeting and there is sure to be plenty of fantastic offers at the mercy of shrewd racing punters.
Paddy Power stole the show in 2010 when they launched their incredible Dunguib money-back special which saw the firm promise punters their stakes back if they backed another horse and Dunguib went on to win the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle.
Luckily for them Menorah foiled the odds-on Irish superstar in the first race of the meeting.
This year we suspect that the firm will run a similar offer but will take aim at Cue Card in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle. The ante post favourite for the race has been impressive since his victory in the Champion Bumper at last year's Festival and he could well start a very short price for the first race at the meeting.
