The eight-year-old capped a superb season with an impressive victory in the Arkle Trophy at the Cheltenham Festival and he was far from disgraced when chasing home his more experienced rivals in the Boylesports.com Champion Chase at Punchestown in April.

"He's back cantering and he seems in mighty form and very happy," explained de Bromhead.

"He was brilliant last year and it was great that he was able to show his true potential.

"We don't regret running him at Punchestown, we just regret not having another run it to give the race a bit more pace.

"There was just no gallop and over two miles that's what he needs.

"A couple of days later they went flat to the boards in the novice race so it was a bit disappointing, but it was great just to run against the more experienced horses.

"We're hoping to start him off in a two-mile-six-furlong conditions race at Punchestown in the middle of October and we just want to see how he'd get on over a trip.

"He won his beginners' chase over two and a half miles really impressively and we want to see if he's a three-mile horse.

"We can give it a go and if it doesn't work, we can always come back to two miles," he explained.
