Colin Tizzard is preparing to take Supreme Novices’ Hurdle favourite Cue Card for a gallop at Newbury before the 2011 Cheltenham Festival.
The superstar will work on Friday afternoon as Tizzard prepares to put the finishing touches to last season’s Champion Bumper winner.
Cue Card was impressive in first two starts over the smaller obstacles and then chased home Champion Hurdle market principal Menorah in the International Hurdle in December.
The five-year-old has been lept fresh ever since but Tizzard is looking to work his stable star: "I'm hoping to take him to Newbury for a racecourse gallop on Friday. He's absolutely fine, but I'd just like to give him a gallop to put my mind at ease before Cheltenham."
Leading Irish bookmaker Paddy Power have launched their Cheltenham Festival money-back special and the firm are prepared to refund all losing bets if Cue Card wins the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle on March 15th.
The ante post favourite for the race has been impressive since his victory in the Champion Bumper at last year's Festival and he could well start a very short price for the first race at the meeting.
