The giant seven-year-old Original, who stunned punters with a 66-1 success in the Wayward Lad Novices' Chase at Kempton over Christmas, has arrived in Britain ahead of his Cheltenham Arkle bid.

"He's very well and I think he's better than when he ran at Kempton," said trainer Marcel Rolland, who will be saddling his first ever runner at the Festival.

"He has been working very well. He hasn't really had a break but with the winter the gallops were very hard.

"His win at Kempton was a bit of a surprise. We thought he would finish second or third, we didn't think he would win."

James Davies was in the plate that day and retains the ride.

"We are having the same rider because at Kempton we asked some of the bigger name jockeys and they said no. That is the reason we are putting James Davies on again. He rode the horse well," the trainer added.

Original is a a good bet at 20/1 to win the Arkle from SkyBet, William Hill and Ladbrokes.

The favourites for the Arkle are currently Tatenen at 5/1 from Ladbrokes and Calgary Bay at 11/2 from Sportingbet.
