Garde Champetre, who was bought by J P McManus in 2004, has finally found his niche in the owner's team of horses. The 10-year-old has always seemed to relish the twisting, cross-country course and has another fine opportunity to post a win.
Garde's rider, Carberry, comes from a family steeped in Cheltenham tradition, and admits that the Festival gets no easier even after three victories. "There is the same level of excitement and nerves as the meeting approaches each year, probably even more so now that I'm getting higher-profile rides," she said.
Back Garde Champetre to Cross Country success at odds of 7/2 from William Hill and Victor Chandler. Garde is the second favourite against LAmi, who has odds of 3/1 from Boylesports.
