2010 Champion Hurdle second Khyber Kim is on course for the William Hill Christmas Hurdle as he warms up for another crack at the Cheltenham Festival.
Nigel Twiston-Davies’ superstar has not been seen since landing the Aintree Hurdle in April, a race that he won after he chased home Binocular in an enthralling renewal of the Champion Hurdle, but his trainer believes that his recent homework is enough proof that he is ready to return.
"He's in great form and we're looking forward to Saturday week," Twiston-Davies explained.
"We would have liked to have run him in early December but that wasn't to be and we're very happy with how he is now. He seems to be over all his problems.
"He used to have a slightly different routine but he's been doing the same work as others in the yard because we needed to get him fit."
When asked about Khyber Kim’s participation in the 2011 Champion Hurdle, Twiston-Davies commented: "It will probably be straight to Cheltenham after. There isn't really a suitable race for him inbetween.”
