Leading British trainer Philip Hobbs has revealed that Menorah will head straight to this year’s stanjames.com Champion Hurdle.
The Greatwood Hurdle winner was last seen putting up a sensational display to beat Cue Card in the International Hurdle at Cheltenham and the 2010 Supreme Novices’ Hurdle winner will return to the course for this year’s Festival.
There had been talk that Menorah could appear in one of the Champion Hurdle trials but it now looks likely that he will be kept fresh for the hurdle showpiece and Hobbs explained: "He's really good and I couldn't be more pleased with him. We were going to give him a couple of weeks walking but after two or three days he was so fresh we had to start cantering again.
"He's in very good nick and as from next week we'll start to pick things up again with the Champion Hurdle in mind and he won't run beforehand."
