Nigel Twiston-Davies believes that Khyber Kim and Baby Run are both in with a great chance of tasting big race glory at next month’s Cheltenham Festival.
The trainer is targeting the Stan James Champion Hurdle with Khyber Kim and the superstar will be looking to build on his second place finish in the race last year.
He’ll be faced with the likes of Binocular, Hurricane Fly and Menorah but Twiston-Davies believes people have quickly forgotten about the Aintree Hurdle hero and he is ready to build on his fourth at the Chistmas Hurdle.
"Khyber Kim is very much a forgotten horse in the Champion Hurdle," he explained.
"We were disappointed (Christmas Hurdle). We thought he was very unfit, we brought him home and his lungs were full of muck.
"He had a course of treatment and then went really well around Kempton. Everyone forgets he's the second or third top-rated hurdler in the country by the handicappers."
Meanwhile, Twiston-Davies is also looking for another Foxhunter Chase success with last year’s winner Baby Run and the trainer commented: "It sounds silly, but he seems better than ever this year at 11.”
