Colm Murphy has ruled Voler La Vedette out of the David Nicholson Mares' Hurdle at next month’s Cheltenham Festival.
The seven-year-old is towards the head of the betting for the opening day showpiece and it looked like her run in Sunday’s Ladbrokes.com Boyne Hurdle at Navan was designed to put her spot on for her rematch with Quevega.
However, Murphy explained: "We've decided not to go to Cheltenham with her this time.
"She got a little bit revved-up over there last year so we'll stay at home and I'd imagine she'll end up at Punchestown."
The superstar mare has found life tough since she opened her account on her seasonal reappearance at Punchestown in October and has seen the back of Hurricane Fly on more than one occasion.
"It's a step up to two miles and five but hopefully she'll handle it all right and she won't mind the heavy ground," Murphy continued.
"She seemed to stay two and a half miles well in the Hatton's Grace and if she runs like that, she should go well on Sunday."
