William Hill Trophy won by Wichita Lineman

Tony McCoy was seen at his very best as he dragged Wichita Lineman home in the William Hill Trophy at the Cheltenham Festival.

Maljimar appeared to have the race in safe-keeping after the last as Daryl Jacob's mount scooted clear. But McCoy, as ever, refused to give up.

Despite being only third over the last - and apparently going nowhere - the champion jockey got a great tune out of his mount to justify 5-1 favouritism.

Trainer Jonjo O'Neill had initially stated the four-mile National Hunt Chase later in the week as being Wichita Lineman's aim - but a late change of heart saw him race over a mile less.
Sustained support in the morning saw him sent off the warm-order favourite as punters got stuck into McCoy's mount.

Heartbreakingly for the backers of Maljimar, McCoy went into overdrive and won by a neck, with Nenuphar Collonges another half a length away in third and Dear Villez fourth.
It was a second Festival success for Wichita Lineman, who won what is now the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle in 2007.
