Colm Murphy is not worrying about the opposition as he prepares Big Zeb for the Queen Mother Champion Chase at next month’s Cheltenham Festival.

Big Zeb was in scintillating form when he jumped to success in the race in 2010 and Murphy is hoping that he can provide him with another Grade One success at Prestbury Park.  Last seen finishing second to Golden Silver in the Tied Cottage Chase at Punchestown, Murphy is hoping his stable star gets a bit of luck this March.

Speaking exclusively to Cheltenhampro, Murphy explained:  “We’re really happy and everything has gone really well with him this year.  We’re hoping for a lot of luck and you’ll need a lot of luck on the day.  We were very fortunate he was there last year and things went right for him and we’re hoping for a bit of luck again.

“We’ll keep him ticking over and he’ll probably do a piece of work between now and then but we won’t do anything different.  We’ll just keep him wrapped up and get him ready.  He’s in good form and we really are happy with him.”

When asked whether or not he is worried about the opposition or tactics in the race, Murphy continued:  “No, I’ll leave that to Barry (Geraghty)!  That will be Barry’s problem; I’ve got enough headaches at home making sure we get him there.  To be honest, I couldn’t care less what else is in the race.  I’ll let the other trainers worry about their horses and I’ll concentrate on worrying about mine.”
