Top Jockey Richard Johnson has confidence in Massini's Maguire, his mount in the Royal & Sun Alliance Chase at Cheltenham today.
Speaking of the grey, last seen when defeated by Breedsbreeze in the Feltham at Kempton, Johnson said:
'He appeared not to quite get home but it was only his second run back after a year off and I believe he is still going to come on from that run and his one at Sandown. He was staying on strongly in the latter and on decent ground I would be very keen on his chances in this race.'
Massini's Maguire is top priced 12/1 with Hills for the 3-mile Novices Championship. He has been relatively solid in the market, and it remains to be seen whether people will take note of Johnson, or of what Phillip Hobbs said in the lead up to Cheltenham, when he described Planet of Sound as his best chance of a winner.
Planet of Sound was third in the Arkle Chase yesterday.
