Henrietta Knight has confirmed that Somersby will tackle the sportingbet.com Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham next month.
Some of the nation's leading bookies have been forced to slash the odds of last year’s Arkle Trophy runner-up bouncing back from his agonizing defeat at the hands of Master Minded in last month’s Victor Chandler Chase.
With Paul Nicholls’ Master Minded currently trading at short odds to regain his Champion Chase crown and after Big Zeb fluffed his lines last time out there will be plenty of punters keen to keep Somersby on side.
Speaking ahead of next month’s Festival Knight explained: "He's very well indeed. He's definitely going for the Queen Mother.
"He's done nothing wrong at two miles, so he'll stay at that trip for the moment. He's never run well beyond two miles yet so there's no point changing the formula."
