Henry De Bromhead and Sizing Europe returned to the winner’s enclosure at the Cheltenham Festival for the second year on the bounce as the Irish raider put up a sensational display in the Queen Mother Champion Chase on Wednesday.

Last year’s Arkle Trophy winner returned to his best form and bounced back to winning ways under the hands of Andrew Lynch with an imperious display of jumping at Prestbury Park.

Sent off a 10/1 shot, the superstar managed to hold off the challenge of Colm Murphy’s second favourite Big Zeb after the two battled it out approaching the final fence with Captain Cee Bee also returning to something like his best to finish third.

Heavily backed dual Champion Chaser Master Minded was well supported before the race but he couldn’t live with the winner and never truly looked like he would be regaining his crown.

De Bromhead’s superstar is now just 5/1 with Stan James to retain his title, with Ladbrokes and Paddy Power going as low as 3/1 about the multiple Grade One winner returning to Cheltenham for a hat-trick of successes.
