The opening race of the 2009 Aintree Festival Big Buck’s 7-2 (from 4) strengthened his position at the head of the 2010 World Hurdle with Stan James after his thrilling victory over gallant runner-up Mighty Man (20-1) in The John Smith’s Liverpool Hurdle.
The Matalan Anniversary 4-Y-O Novices’ Hurdle saw Walkon improve on his second in the Triumph Hurdle to Zaynar at this year’s Cheltenham Festival and the Alan King-trained gelding is now 10-1 (from 16) for the 2010 Champion Hurdle.
