In-form Festival jockey Barry Geraghty believes Riverside Theatre may be his best chance of the day after Wednesday's staggering four-timer.
Speaking after Wednesday's successes. he explained: "That was some day! The best I've ever had for winners at the meeting in one day and all three came in the top class conditions events topped off by Finian's Rainbow providing my fourth win in the Champion Chase - that's as good as it gets, a deadly day."
But refusing to sit on his laurels he is looking towards Riverside Theatre with some enthusiasm, adding that the horse is facing his toughest ever test with Alberta's Run in the line-up for the 14:40 UK race. Riverside Theatre is 4/1 to triumph with
bet365 while Albertas Run is at 9/1 and Captain Chris is at 11/1.
Writing on his At the Races blog he says:" One thing I do want to get straight before we go any further discussing this race; there is no trouble with the track as far as this horse is concerned.
"The only time he ran here was in the Arkle two years ago and he just got badly outpaced over two miles when the pace quickened. As it was, he stormed up the hill - if he hadn't done that then we'd have had something to worry about!
"He was very good at Ascot last time, coming back from a year off and I wouldn't be too concerned about any "bounce" because this horse was in full training when he went wrong a year ago so really only had six months out."
