Thirty-four horses remain in contention for the 2011 Ladbrokes World Hurdle after the latest entries were revealed on Wednesday.
Paul Nicholls’ unbeaten hurdler Big Buck’s remains on course for the race as he looks to make it a hat-trick of successes on Thursday’s feature and he would become the first horse to win it three times in a row if he holds off the challenge of a formidable bunch of rivals.
In opposition could be David Pipe’s Grand Crus who has been heavily backed after his facile success in the Cleeve Hurdle at Cheltenham last time out.
Willie Mullins’ has entered Mourad, Mikael D'Haguenet, Quevega and Fiveforthree, while Nicky Henderson could yet have a big say in the race after he gave entries to Oscar Whisky, Punchestowns and Zaynar.
Another surprise runner could be Charles Byrnes’ Solwhit who has been taken out of the Champion Hurdle and left in the mix for World Hurdle glory.
Among the 12 scratchings were Arcalis, Shinrock Paddy and Walkon who will all have different plans in place as we move closer and closer to the 2011 Cheltenham Festival.
