David Pipe is delighted with Grand Crus’ preparation for the Cheltenham Festival as the talented hurdler warms up for a crack at the Ladbrokes World Hurdle.
Grand Crus is thought to have a leading chance in the Grade One and there are plenty of punters that believe that the talented grey could lower the colours of Paul Nicholls’ legendary staying hurdler Big Buck’s.
Big Buck’s is in search of a third consecutive success in the Thursday feature and there has never been a horse that has looked like ending the superstar’s remarkable ten race winning streak.
Grand Crus hasn’t been seen since he cruised to a ten-length victory in the Cleeve Hurdle at Cheltenham in January and Pipe commented: "He's fine. We're keeping him ticking over until Cheltenham. He's done plenty of work since his last race and he'll do plenty more between now and Cheltenham."
The Cheltenham Festival is just over one week away and Pipe will be hoping that he can get Grand Crus to the meeting in one piece after a weekend that saw Diamond Harry and Riverside Theatre ruled out of travelling to Prestbury Park.
