The 2012 Pertemps Final was won by Denis O'Reagan on Cape Tribulation after a patient ride in a race that began at a frantic pace with duel winner Buena Vista and Palace Jester going to the head of affairs.
Neither could sustain the gallop, however, and they were swallowed up on the run towards the final two fences with O'Reagan producing Cape Tribulation in perfect time to finish just ahead of Catch Me and Cantlow. Houblon Des Obleaux and Reindeer Dipper made up the five places.
