Irish raider Solwhit will tackle Big Buck’s in the Ladbrokes World Hurdle after trainer Charles Byrnes declared his horse would be heading for the 2011 Cheltenham Festival.

The seven-year-old will make the trip to Prestbury Park to tackle the long distance staying event after Byrnes ruled his stable star out of the Champion Hurdle.

Defeat at the hands of Hurricane Fly on three separate occasions this season has put the handler off the opening day showpiece and he has opted to run the Grade One winner on the Thursday instead.

"It looks more likely now that he'll run. We gave him a break after his last run and he just started riding out again last week," Byrnes explained.

"I think he's freshened up well and the plan is to run him in the World Hurdle.  He's obviously going into the unknown by running over three miles, but it seemed the best option.

"We were thinking of waiting until Aintree but as long as he's all right between now and then, he'll go to Cheltenham."
