Countrywide Flame won the 2012 JCB Triumph Hurdle on Gold Cup Day at the Cheltenham Festival, landing odds of 33/1
The 2012 JCB Triumph hurdle was supposed to be a battle between Baby Mix, Grumeti and Sadlers Risk and all four travelled well throughout but it was the late surge from Dougie Costello on Countrywide Flame that settled the race with the 33/1 shot coming through to touch of Hisaabaat in a thrilling finish.
Grumeti, who went off as the 5/1 favourite, could only finish third with Dodging Bullets, apparently Paul Nicholls's second string in the race, finishing fourth.
1- Countrywide Flame 33/1
2- Hisaabaat 20/1
