There looks like being a superstar cast of horses lining up for the £500,000 ‘Blue Riband’ event and all the likely names look set to be involved.
Champion trainer Paul Nicholls has entered Kauto Star, along with stablemates Denman, What A Friend, Noland, Neptune Collonges, The Nightingale and Pride Of Dulcote as the legendary handler goes in search of an incredible fifth success in the race.
There is also a powerful looking Irish contingent set to head to the Festival and Pandorama and Sizing Europe head nine horses ready to launch a raid on the Grade One showpiece.
Nicky Henderson, who is remarkably yet to taste success in the Gold Cup, has entered Long Run and Punchestowns, while Nigel Twiston-Davies looks set to let Imperial Commander return to HQ to defend his crown, one year on from his exhilarating success in the prestigious race.
