Cheltenham Gold Cup punters were this week informed by Denman part owner Harry Findlay that Denman had showed some of his old sparkle and is on course for the Cheltenham Gold Cup next Friday.

A poor betting record caused last year’s Gold Cup winner to drift out to 7/1 for Gold Cup glory. That price is still available with Ladbrokes, but some bookies, namely Betfred, have recently shortened him to as much as 9/2.
