The latest addition to the 2009 Cheltenham Festival, the Conditional Jockeys' Hurdle has seen a large amount of interest from trainers with 216 initial entries. The new contest staged over an extended two and a half miles will be the second to last race of The 2009 Cheltenham Festival on Friday, March 13.

The race celebrates the achievements of trainer Martin Pipe, who enjoyed 34 Festival successes. In addition to the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle, Friday March 13, also features the Vincent O’Brien County Handicap Hurdle, which has 122 entries and the race which brings The Festival to a close in 2009, the Johnny Henderson Grand Annual Chase which has 52 contenders.

Coral is the only bookmaker to have  released odds for the Conditional Jockeys' Hurdle and at this stage the early favourites are Mamlook at 10/1 from Coral, and Aux Le Bahnn at 14/1 from Coral.
