There were no surprise withdrawals as twenty-four horses stood their ground in the latest forfeit stage for the 2011 totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup.
Next month’s renewal of the blue riband event is looking set to be an absolute thriller and the last four winners of the race all remain in the mix for Grade One glory.
Kauto Star, who triumphed in 2007 and 2009, Denman, the impressive winner in 2008, and last year’s hero Imperial Commander are all on course for the Friday 18th March feature, along with King George winner Long Run and Hennessy Gold Cup star Diamond Harry.
Also entered are Albertas Run, Carronhills, Carruthers, Chief Dan George, China Rock, Great Endeavour, Joncol, Kempes, Midnight Chase, Mon Mome, Neptune Collonges, Pandorama, Planet Of Sound, Pride Of Dulcote, Punchestowns, Synchronised, Tidal Bay, Weird Al and What A Friend.
Irish raiders Barker, Sizing Europe and Cooldine were all scratched from the race and Paul Nicholls’ Noland and talented chaser Time For Rupert were also amongst the ten that won’t be heading for the Gold Cup.
