Flips hoping for McCoy

Andy Turnell is awaiting a decision to see whether Tony McCoy will be available to ride Micheal Flips in the williamhill Supreme Novices' Hurdle.

The champion jockey McCoy is claimed to be riding Ainama for his boss JP McManus, meaning Turnell will have to look elsewhere for a jockey.

"We haven't completely decided who would ride if Tony is not available, but I suspect we will stick with Mark Grant as he has won on him before. But nothing is definite on the jockey front yet.

"He did his final piece of work today and I was very pleased with him. He has done nothing wrong and I have been very pleased with his preparation."

Michael Flips looks a good bet for the Supreme Novices at odds of 11/1 from Sportingbet, making him the 4th favourite. Ainama is a tempting 14/1 from Skybet, odds that look great value if McCoy rides.
