Race fans stunned by Paddy Power ahead of Annie Power World Hurdle bid

Paddy Power look to be out to get Annie Power ahead of the World Hurdle on Thursday.

Paddy Power have been stunning punters with their money-back specials and promotions over the last few days and their latest offering could be their best yet.

After paying out over €5.5million on their Supreme Novices' Hurdle refund and then offering The New One at an incredible 8/1 for the Champion Hurdle, they've now taken aim at this year's Festival 'banker' - Annie Power.

This year’s World Hurdle looks set to be one of the most exciting races of the entire meeting and Annie Power's clash with Big Buck's looks to be a scintillating showdown.

Annie Power looks set to start favourite for the race and her jockey, Ruby Walsh, believes that she has exactly what it takes to taste Grade One glory at the Festival.

Walsh explained: "I think she will stay. Her pedigree is all stamina. She's out of an Old Vic mare and she's by Shirocco.

"The further she goes, the more it'll suit her, but you can't really be certain until she goes and does it.  She's never run over three miles, but things had to be considered and that's where we feel she has her best chance.

"Willie has asked my opinion and everything had to be weighed up and we all felt it is the right race for her.  There are four or five outstanding horses in the Champion Hurdle and maybe two, possibly three, in the World Hurdle."
