The Kim Muir Challenge Cup (4:40pm) is a Class B handicap chase run over three miles and about half a furlong. It is open to horses aged five years old and upwards. The total prize fund in 2011 was £50,000. All horses are ridden by amateur jockeys.

One of the most difficult races to predict, the Kim Muir is a race run over three miles one furlong and is for amateur jockeys.

The race almost always goes the way of an amateur jockey hailing from a top yard and the likes of Paul Nicholls and Nicky Henderson cannot be ignored.
