2.40 Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle

The Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle is always a tough test of horse and jockey so it's no surprise that Tony McCoy has enjoyed plenty of success in this 3m Cheltenham Festival contest, with the champion taking his tally of wins to three in the last eight years when prevailing on At Fishers Cross in the most recent renewal.

AP also helped get Black Jack Ketchum (2006) and Wichita Lineman (2007) across the line first in this demanding event, which obtained Grade 1 status in 2008 and during which 12 obstacles have to be jumped.

Other notable previous winners include the reigning Gold Cup holder Bobs Worth, while 2009 hero Weapon's Amnesty went on to land the following season's RSA Chase and Wichita Lineman returned to claim a William Hill Trophy Handicap Chase two years later.

This term, Kings Palace is fancied to give David Pipe a first success in the race following two impressive wins here in October and December, while Briar Hill may look to follow up last season's Champion Bumper triumph with another Festival victory.
